Welcome to my Web site. My purpose is to introduce myself, share books/handbooks I have written (and how to access them), and prompt dialogue as the spirit moves.
Books/Handbooks I have written are described under the section: BOOKS/HANDBOOKS. Other SECTIONS are ARTICLES and THOUGHTS.
I was the first of four born into a farm family in Southern Minnesota, educated in public schools from grade one to grade 12 and college and public universities (BS, MA, and Doctorate in Education). I served as teacher in elementary, middle, and high school settings and principal in all three of these settings for an eleven-year period, followed by assistant superintendent and superintendent positions for twenty-four years. Many scholarships, awards, and recognitions have my name on them, including being honored National Superintendent of the Year by the 15,000 member American Association of School Superintendents.
Subsequently, the University of Minnesota, College of Education and Human Development appointed me as Senior Advisor, Lecturer of Record, and Supervisor of Administrative Interns. Also, the Search Institute in Minneapolis invited me to speak nationally (27 states, 250 assignments) about ASSET BUILDING in children’s lives, and in my semi-retirement have done consultative work in public schools and for private businesses. I then turned to professional writing on a wide variety of topics. My wife and I have been married for sixty years and have been blessed by two children and five grandchildren.
